New PBS Distribution DVD’s Your Kids Will Love

If you have young kids, chances are they are HUGE PBS Kids fans like mine.  This summer there are a couple new releases from PBS Distribution that your little ones will love!

My daughter is a PBS Kids kid all the way.  She loves both Dinosaur Train and Arthur which is why I’m so excited about these new releases!  Now you can add Dinosaur Train: Dinosaurs Take Flight and Arthur: Brothers and Sisters to your little one’s DVD collection and my daughter was SO excited when she saw the new releases.

Do you like Buddy, Shiny, Tiny, Don…or even just the fun adventures that the Pteranodon family go on?  Then you’re going to LOVE Dinosaurs Take Flight!  Join the Pteranodon family on high-flying adventures! In four of the eight episodes on this DVD, viewers take to the sky with Buddy and his family as they ride in one of Dinosaur Train Industry’s newest creations – the Dinosaur Train Zeppelin.  As they soar above the clouds, the Pteranodon family visits a waterfall, explores a crater made by an asteroid, and more!  Approximate run time is 120 minutes of pure dinosaur adventure fun.

Episodes included on this disc:

  • Zeppelin: Waterfall” – The Pteranodon kids are riding the Dinosaur Train with friend and fellow pterosaur, Quincy Queztalcoatlus. When they pass by a waterfall, Buddy comments on how big it is!  Quincy’s dad mentions a giant waterfall at the edge of the Western Interior Sea. Mr. Conductor gives a lesson about waterfalls and then suggests a unique and amazing way to view the giant falls – from above! They can fly in the experimental Dinosaur Train Zeppelin…if Thurston Troodon will agree to take them all there on the zeppelin’s maiden voyage. Thurston does and our Pteranodon family gets to experience a spectacular zeppelin ride! The Queztalcoatluses fly alongside, impressing everyone with their flying abilities. After learning more about waterfalls, the Pteranodons catch lots of fish and dine before heading back to the Train via the one-of-a-kind Dinosaur Train Zeppelin!
  • Zeppelin: Atoll” – An atoll is a ring-shaped coral reef including a coral rim that encircles a lagoon partially or completely. Reef-building corals will thrive only in warm tropical and subtropical waters of oceans and seas, and therefore atolls are only found in the tropics and subtropics. When the Pteranodon family spots Annie and her T. rex herd migrating to follow the food, the Pteranodon kids wonder if other creatures, even marine mammals, also migrate. The Conductor flies the Pteranodon family over the ocean in the Dinosaur Train Zeppelin to look for Polycotylus, a type of marine reptile that does migrate in the ocean. After spotting a pod of migrating Polycotylus from the sky, the Zeppelin lands in an atoll and our family meets Paulette and Polly Polycotylus, a mother and daughter (from what is modern-day Australia). Our Pteranodon kids, and Mom, Dad and the Conductor learn all about Polycotylus migration and the reptile’s features. Then the whole group of new friends enjoys a fish-picnic on the reef of the atoll before the Pteranodon clan heads back home in the zeppelin.
  • Zeppelin: Pangaea” – When the Pteranodon kids decide to draw some maps, Don’s map of one big land mass for “the whole Mesozoic” triggers a discussion on whether the Mesozoic is “one big place that’s all connected” or comprised of a bunch of smaller, interconnected land masses. On the Dinosaur Train, the Conductor explains that millions of years ago there actually was just one big land mass called “Pangaea”!  Then, over a long period of time, it started to drift apart and form separate, smaller landmasses, or continents. Our family can’t believe it! The Conductor offers to take the Pteranodons up in the Zeppelin and through a Sky Time Tunnel, back to the time of Pangaea. At the Zeppelin Station, they meet up with Tricia Troodon, who helps pilot the Zeppelin on their journey. Once in the sky and through the time tunnel, our family is able to see Pangaea, the one giant landmass, just as it’s starting to break apart. Then the family travels forward in time and views the continents separating more as oceans and seas move in between the land. Looking down at how their coastline looks in the Cretaceous, Buddy, Tiny, Shiny and Don all agree that seeing Pangaea breaking apart is one of the coolest things ever!
  • Zeppelin: Crater” – As the Pteranodon kids are playing outside their nest, a few seedpods fall from a nearby tree, bonking Don on the head. This leads to a discussion about how far away things can fall from…maybe even from space?? Buddy hypothesizes that perhaps if a star came close enough, it could land on Earth! On the Dinosaur Train, the Conductor explains that things actually do fall from space.  Big space rocks, called “asteroids,” sometimes land on Earth, and when they occasionally do, they make a big hole, called a crater. Don perks up at this – he’d love to see a crater! So the Conductor takes the Pteranodon Family up in the Zeppelin to see a giant crater from above! On the ground, they explore the crater and find fragments of “space rocks” from the former asteroid. As evening falls and our family flies back home, the Conductor and Mom and Dad surprise the kids with a picnic dinner on the Zeppelin – hurrah!
  • Petey the Peteinosaurus” – Buddy and Tiny ride the Dinosaur Train to meet Petey Peteinosaurus, a “flying lizard,” who is fun, funny, and friendly, and has some features similar to both Buddy and Tiny!
  • Pterosaur Flying Club” – Tiny and Shiny practice their swoop-de-loops and other flying moves in anticipation of their play-date with fellow Pterosaurs Petey Peteinosaurus and Quincy Quetzalcoatlus. With Buddy helping with the choreography, the Pterosaur Flying Club puts on a flying show!
  • The Lost Bird” – Buddy and Tiny ride the Dinosaur Train for a playdate with their old friend Petey Peteinosaurus, and learn that the train has added a new Aviary Car, for their various flying passengers. Suddenly, they are joined by a lost bird named Judy Jehelornis, who was displaced by the recent forest fires, and can’t remember where her home is. Buddy, Tiny, and Petey act as detectives to figure out from clues where Judy’s home is, and the Conductor makes sure she’s brought safely home on the train.
  • Don’s Dragonfly” – When the Pteranodon family goes on an outing to the Big Pond, Don makes a new friend with red feet: a dragonfly named Howard.

My daughter loves watching Arthur and especially loves D.W.  If you have a little Arthur fan, they’ll absolutely love adding Brothers and Sisters to their collection.  Join Arthur, his family and friends for eight stories of the hit PBS KIDS series about the joys – and challenges – of having a brother or sister. From D.W. copying her big brother’s every move, to the Tibble twins discovering that Tommy is two whole minutes older than Timmy, this DVD features loads of sibling fun.  Approximate run time is 108 minutes and your little one will enjoy every single 108 of them.

Episodes included on this disc:

  • D.W. the Copycat” – Yet another personality change for D.W., who’s decided that from now on, she’ll be just like Arthur. She’ll walk like him, talk like him, follow him wherever he goes. How can Arthur persuade D.W. that the world is only big enough for one Arthur?
  • Arthur’s Baby” – Arthur is not too sure he’s ready for a new baby in the house. What do babies do besides cry..crY ..cRY…CRY!  As the months fly by, Arthur imagines life with the new baby. Some of his fears seem to ring true: baby Kate doesn’t like him. Or does she?
  • D.W.’s Baby” – Living with a baby is no picnic. No one ever told D.W. that babies cried all the time, and threw up on your clothes, and got all the attention. Just how long will Baby Kate be hanging around, anyway? And who would even miss D.W. if she ran away to Button Island?
  • Arthur’s First Sleepover” – Have you ever been afraid of the dark?  Despite D.W.’s threat of aliens, Arthur sets his tent for his first sleepover. D.W.’s mad that she can’t be a part of the sleepover, but she’ll have some fun of her own – with the help of alien lights. But, who will have the last joke: Arthur and his friends, D.W., or the aliens?
  • Francine Redecorates” – Francine likes bats and lizards, while Catherine’s taste runs to lace. Normally, it’s fun to be different, but not if you’re two sisters sharing the same room. Space gets very tight at the Frensky’s, when this odd couple decides they’ve had enough togetherness.
  • Sue Ellen’s Little Sister” – Arthur and Francine would love to lend their sisters to Sue Ellen, who’s sick of being an only child. But Sue Ellen realizes you should be careful what you wish for, after her quest for the perfect sibling leads her to…D.W.
  • Two Minutes” – Power shifts in the Tibble household when the twins find out Tommy is two minutes older than Timmy. Frustrated in his new role, Timmy enlists the help of an expert older brother tamer: D.W.!
  • The Pageant Pickle” – School is almost out and Arthur can hardly wait for those lazy summer days by Muffy’s pool. Nothing could ruin such a happy time of year…except maybe – D.W.’s Spring Pageant!

Don’t let this summer pass without adding these new PBS Distribution DVD’s to your little one’s movie library!

Fun New Adventures Available From NCircle Entertainment…Perfect For Young Inquiring Minds

NCircle Entertainment is a name I’m sure you’ll recognize if you’ve followed my blog for even a short amount of time.  I am a mother of three and I really appreciate the quality entertainment that NCircle provides.  NCircle is well known for providing quality children’s entertainment that helps build early learning skills.  NCircle’s award winning brands will engage your child in the learning process while keeping them entertained with song, dance, and laughter.  Learning is fun when you have NCircle by your side.  There’s nothing better for little minds than education that entertains and that’s something that all of us parents can appreciate.

There are two new releases to the NCircle lineup this month and I was super excited to check them out with my kids!

The Cat in the Hat is a HUGE favorite of my kids so they were really excited to see The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About Space in our package.  After watching this DVD just a couple times my 5 year old is able to recite all of the planets and tell me fun facts about them.  I think she’s going to be the smartest kid in her class when she starts kindergarten this upcoming fall.  I LOVE what NCircle helps me teach my children!

About the movie:

The Cat in the Hat joins Nick and Sally who are exploring the backyard when something extraordinary finds them-a flying robotic dog! The robot lands and does some exploring of his own, gulping up rock samples and photographing the Cat, Nick, Sally, and Fish before blasting off back into space! What was that thing? Where did it come from? Where is it going? The Cat in the Hat fires up his Space-ama-racer and whisks Nick, Sally and Fish off on a cosmic adventure in search of the robot. Together, they survive a dust storm on the surface of Mars, rocket through an asteroid belt, and then narrowly escape being sucked into Jupiter by it’s huge gravitational pull! Ultimately, they hitch a ride on a comet that leads them all safely back to the Space Station, along with plenty of space samples, and stories and even a small souvenir that follows The Cat in the Hat and our crew back to Earth!

Mily is a new face and my daughter couldn’t wait to watch Mily Miss Questions and see what Mily was all about.  Just like my little girl, Mily is curious, full of questions, and can’t wait to explore the world.  Mily helps develop inquiring little minds and is great at teaching kids about different situations.

About the movie:

Join Mily and her friends as they investigate the major themes of life encountered in everyday situations. Mily is a funny, curious and uncertain little 9-year-old girl. Like many children her age, she has a great many questions about life, people, and the world. She’s never lost for words; in fact, life for her is a goody-bag full of questions to be dipped into. Whenever a particular situation raises a question worthy of examination, Mily is immediately on the case! From one episode to the next, through everyday situations and without ever favoring a particular point of view, Mily introduces young viewers to the art of questioning and the development of an inquiring mind.

Make sure you check out all that NCircle Entertainment has to offer!  I’m sure you’ll find a movie (or 2 or 3) that would be perfect for your little one 🙂 .

Two Fun New Adventures Now Available From NCircle Entertainment #Review

NCircle Entertainment has been a household favorite for years.  NCircle is well known for providing quality children’s entertainment that helps build early learning skills.  NCircle’s award winning brands will engage your child in the learning process while keeping them entertained with song, dance, and laughter.  Learning is fun when you have NCircle by your side.  There’s nothing better for little minds than education that entertains and that’s something that as a mother I truly appreciate.

There are two new movie additions to the NCircle lineup and I couldn’t wait to see what my kids thought of them!

ABC Monsters: Starring QRSTU was a HUGE hit with my 5 year old daughter!  She is actually learning to recognize the letters after watching this DVD a couple times and I was blown away by the amount of information she retained.  My daughter has been able to remember what she’s being taught and is so eager to get the rest of the collection.  She’s recognizing letter sounds to words and letting us know what letter the word starts with all on her own.  This is the best alphabet teaching series I’ve come across and I’m so glad NCircle introduced us to Alphabet Monsters!

About the movie:

Twenty six cuddly ABC Monsters live within the walls of Capital Castle. Each monster represents a letter of the alphabet, but should any of the monsters go missing for longer than a day, all the letters will be wiped clean from every book in Capital Town! In this DVD, embark on adventures with Alice, Brian and Cherry Berry to search high and low for the letters Q, R, S, T, and U. It’s a rainy day at Capital Castle. The big Capital Castle raffle is supposed to happen today but it has been canceled! The raffle is to be held in Alphabet Garden but with all this rain there is no way the raffle can happen. To make matters worse, now R-Monster has vanished from Alphabet Garden. Will they find her in time and be able to still have the big Capital Castle raffle? Find out as Alice, Brian and Cherry Berry search for R-Monster and meet a few friends like Ricky the Rabbit and Rachel the Raccoon along the way. Get set for a spellbinding series of magical adventures that engages preschool children’s imaginations, while making learning exciting and entertaining.

The Little Prince: The Planet Of The Snake is a new story to my children and I but we all really enjoyed it!  There’s plenty of action in this captivating story that the whole family will enjoy.  I even found my husband getting really into the movie and let the kids stay up late to finish it (when normally he would just wait until the next day).  This brave little prince will take you on an epic adventure that you won’t forget!

About the movie:

The universe is in danger. The evil Snake extinguishes the stars as he passes through the galaxy, causing chaos and plunging the planets into darkness. The Little Prince must leave his Asteroid home and beloved friend, Rose, in his quest to outsmart the Snake and save the universe from doom. Accompanied by his trusted companion, the Fox, the Little Prince travels from planet to planet, braving danger and discovering vast and enchanted worlds. Will the extraordinary gifts of the Little Prince bring each of the planets back to life? And will he ever find his way home? The Snake is tired of constantly losing against the Little Prince so he decides to risk it all! He goes back to B612, kidnaps Rose and brings her back to his planet. By doing so, he might lose everything because if the Little Prince comes to the Snake’s home planet and frees Rose, the Little Prince will also rescue all the gloomy prisoners! Will the Snake regret kidnapping Rose and possibly losing all of his prisoners?

This Valentine’s Day surprise the lucky little person in your life with a gift from NCircle Entertainment.

Give The Gift Of Entertaining Education With NCircle Entertainment #Review #HolidayGiftGuide

NCircle Entertainment has been a household favorite for years.  NCircle is well known for providing quality children’s entertainment that helps build early learning skills.  NCircle’s award winning brands will engage your child in the learning process while keeping them entertained with song, dance, and laughter.  There’s nothing better for little minds than education that entertains and that’s something that as a mother I truly appreciate.

I received a selection of holiday titles that I knew my daughter would fall in love with instantly.

Octonauts is one of my daughter’s favorite shows and she has been wanting an Octonauts DVD for a while.  The Octonauts crew is always off on a fun new adventure and your little one gets to tag along!  Captain Barnacles, Kwazii, Peso, and the Vegimals make for quite the entertaining crew!  When my daughter saw the Octonauts: Very Vegimal Christmas that was the first movie she wanted to watch.  This Christmas DVD allows your little one to join the Octonauts as they celebrate the holidays.  The Vegimals plan for a Chrismtmas feast aboard the Octopod but are interrupted and things don’t go exactly according to plan.  The adventure continues when the Octonauts discover that a rockslide has endangered some sea creature friends and need to rescue them in time to save Christmas.  Octonauts: The Great Penguin Race is another action packed DVD that any little explorer will love.  Join Peso on an exciting tournament, the Iron Clam Competition.  Peso will have to compete against an awesomely athletic penguin to claim victory.  Who do you think will win?

The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That is another show that my daughter absolutely adores.  In The Cat In The Hat Know A Lot About Christmas, there’s a poor little baby reindeer in need of help.  Sally, Nick, and Cat must help the little reindeer, Ralph, get home to his family in far away Freeze-Your-Knees.  Join this trio on a fun adventure and see if Ralph gets home in time.  As if one fun-filled Cat In The Hat DVD wasn’t enough, I also received The Cat In The Hat: Told From The Cold and my little one really enjoyed this movie as well.  In this DVD you’ll learn how water can turn into snow, that penguins don’t fly, and how black bears get ready for a long winter’s nap when the weather turns cold.  Don’t miss out on this super fun adventure!

If you know me, you probably know that I’m not the biggest Caillou fan but my daughter absolutely loves Caillou.  I am the second oldest of 10 children with a 10 year gap between me and the third child so you can imagine how my teenage years were.  I was always watching my siblings and my younger brother, Joe, was OBSESSED with Caillou so I was subjected to it ALL. THE. TIME.  Caillou’s Holiday Movie is one I hadn’t seen yet (surprisingly) and I do have to admit it is a really cute movie.  In Caillou’s Holiday Movie you get to see how this curious little guy handles all kinds of big boy tasks.  Caillou will help Daddy shovel snow, make holiday presents for his family, and even discover how boys and girls all around the world celebrate the season.  The ‘bent and tiny Christmas tree’ in the movie is adorable and now my daughter wants the same kind of tree next year.

Give the gift of entertaining education to the special little one on your holiday shopping list with NCircle Entertainment.

Make The Holidays Merry And Bright With #Minions

Minions Box Art

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 5 years, I’m sure you are well aware of who the Minions are.  We were first introduced to these cute little guys in the movie ‘Despicable Me’ in the summer of 2010.  Ever since the release of Despicable Me, my kids have been  head over heels for those little Minions.  Since receiving our copy of Minions, my kids have played it over and over, and I think I can now fluently speak Minionese.

The new movie Minions is the prequel…a little look behind the scenes of what made the Minions so miniony.   The Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and Digital HD also come with three all-new mini-movies and even more Minions everyone will want to watch again and again especially during the busy holiday travel season.

“The story of Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Minions begins at the dawn of time. Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters.  Continuously unsuccessful at keeping these masters—from T. rex to Napoleon—the Minions find themselves without someone to serve and fall into a deep depression. But one Minion named Kevin has a plan, and he—alongside teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob—ventures out into the world to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow. The trio embark upon a thrilling journey that ultimately leads them to their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill (Academy Award®-winner Sandra Bullock), the world’s first-ever female super-villain.  They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960s New York City, ending in ‘mod’ London, where they must face their biggest challenge to date: saving all of Minionkind…from annihilation.”

For the full Minion experience, I highly recommend the Blu-Ray and Digital HD.
