Week 44 is here and I’m feeling fabulous! When I started Nutrisystem, my goal weight was 130 lbs. Throughout the journey I decided I would try for 120 lbs instead and see how I felt. Well, after reaching 125 lbs I actually felt pretty satisfied with where I was and now am entering my maintaining phase. I would have never in a million years imagined that I would reach my goal PLUS an additional 5 lbs…CRAZY!!
I didn’t realize how much of a difference 55 lbs would be. You can see from the BMI index above, when I started Nutrisystem at 180 lbs, I was not a healthy person, not even close. Not only was I considered ‘overweight’, but ‘obese’. Ouch…that one really stung. As I’ve told you all before, losing my father due to his obesity related health issues was a big motivator for me. I didn’t want my children to endure the same thing. Not only are you losing weight, but you are improving your overall health and increasing your life span…what a wonderful gift to yourself and the ones that love you!
After telling my kids I had finally reached my goal, they were so excited and so proud of me and I can’t begin to describe to you how good that felt. The next day, I had a Nutrisystem bar for breakfast, a Nutrisystem lunch bar for lunch, and one of my favorite flex dinners in a slightly larger portion. By lunch time my 5 year old was questioning me why I was still eating ‘diet’, and that I could have anything I wanted now. I explained to her that eating the same old way will do no good. The biggest goal was for me to become healthy for life, and live a long time for her and her brothers. She understood pretty well and has even started to make some healthier choices when it comes to snack time too! Keeping these healthy habits that Nutrisystem helped me learn is key to maintaining my success, and the added benefit of my children making healthier choices is a huge mom-win!
