Week 36 on Nutrisystem is here and I’m ready to keep shaking things up. This past week I was on a quest for new powerfuels to add in that weren’t dairy, and found some really great options, or so I had thought. Although I found some really tasty things, I hadn’t paid too much attention to the sodium…yikes! The turkey cheddar sausages I found were only 120 calories and 11 grams of protein, sounds great right? A whopping 800 mg of sodium, that’s outrageous! This week I only lost 0.6 lbs according to the scale, but I have a feeling the number should be higher but I’ve retained water from all of the outrageous amounts of sodium I had been consuming all week.
Time to keep shaking it up and I had a pretty good trip to the grocery store. I decided I would opt to skip the processed meats and jerkys I fell in love with last week and just get fresh, raw meats that I control the preparation of. I got whole shrimp, chicken breast, turkey breast tenderloin, and lots of eggs.
This is a tasty lunch that I already have fallen in love with and will make it a regular flex lunch for me. A rice bowl with 1/2 cup brown rice, and some salad shrimp cooked in a little bit of peppered habanero seasoning for a tasty little kick. This last 11 lbs will come off, and I’m hopeful these new grocery additions help get me there. Stick around and see what happens next week, hopefully there’s some better progress to share 🙂 .
